The problem

The screenwriting world runs on connections. A great script can sit in a drawer for years simply because its author doesn’t know the right person. And on the industry side, buyers get scattered, unfiltered material that’s hard to evaluate at scale.

First Look set out to close that gap: give creators a serious place to present their work, and buyers a reliable way to find projects worth their time.

What we did

We worked with First Look to build the platform, designing every part around trust between two very different sides: creators putting their work out there, and professionals looking to invest in it.

The private dashboard lets each writer organise, refine and publish their material. The marketplace connects that work with verified buyers, and the AI feedback tools assess structure, pacing, dialogue and commercial viability — giving authors an objective read before their project reaches the industry.

A key piece was the AI integration through an API: we connected the analysis engine and tuned the flow until the script coverage was up to 80% more accurate, giving writers and buyers an evaluation they can genuinely trust.

The approach

First Look is a good example of how we work on products where trust is at the heart of the business: clear interfaces, protected data, and an experience that has to work just as well for the first-time writer as for the professional buyer evaluating dozens of projects a week.
